Released in 1992 by game arts Alisia Dragoon is available on the mega drive and genesis. You play the game as Alisia a young woman a quest to save the world and avenge her father. She is able to fire lightning (thunder magic) from her hands and summon four beasts to assist her.

Alicia Dragoon GamePlay

Alisia Dragoon side scrolling beat em/platformer up played across 8 levels each completed by fighting enemies and then beating the boss at the end of each level. The platformer published first stages on the cross genre level gameplay these get harder on the platform as stages progress until you reach the final Boss ( Dark god Baldour).

Alisia's lightning attack is used to kill enemies but with each attack she loses power, the power recharges when she stops attacking. When the power bar is full she is able to release a multi enemy attack, Strategical use of the lightning attack is important so you don't leave Alisia vulnerable at key points in the game.

Alisia's Beasts/companions

Helping Alisia on her quest are her four monsters/ companions each with it's own unique special attack, The little monsters fly around using their unique special attacks to kill multiple enemies.

Enemy Description + Ability

• Dragon Frye: spits fireballs
• Boomerang Lizard: hurls boomerangs
• Thunder Raven: emits a thunder blast
• Ball O' Fire: burns enemies on contact

Only one monster can be active on the quest at any one time, however they can be changed at anytime in the game. As you progress through the levels of the game Alisia and her monster can pick up power ups that strengthen their abilities, The difficulty is these power ups are generally hidden within the levels of the video game.

Game excitement

Alisia Dragoon is extremely popular in Europe and America, It was not received as well in Japan. The Japanese gamers just were not as enthusiastic as their western counterparts. Alisia dragoon is very sought after due to is responsive design and major playability it is regarded as one of the best video games released on the Sega Mega drive.
