Super Mario 3D World Nintendo Wii U game

Super Mario 3d world was the first multiplayer 3d Mario game on the WII U. Up to four players work together as Mario, Luigi, Princess, Peach or Toad. Each Character has their own unique abilities in the Game. Publisher Nintendo introduced "Cat Transformation" and other new power ups allowing the players to run on all fours, attack with their claws and pounce on enemies and climb walls. You can play with up to four players at once.

Follow up

The Game is the Sequel to super Mario 3d land that was released on the Nintendo 3ds in 2011. It was a success as it was the second highest selling game on the Wii U with 5 million copies selling.

Super Mario 3d World gameplay

Up to Four players can travel through 3d worlds and work together as Princess, Mario, Luigi, peach and toad, each with their own unique abilities, Players shared a pool of lives and could carry and throw each other. Previously used special items returned such as

• Fire Flower
• Super Leaf
• Mega Mushroom
• Propeller box
• Boomerang Flower

Also new power ups were added Such as the Super Bell: This gives players a cat suit allowing them to climb up walls and run faster this allowed players to reach new areas. There is also the Lucky Bell which is similar to the Super Bell, It allows players to turn into a cat statue that can give coins.

Double Cherry allow players to have a clone making attacks more effective on enemies. The more Double cherry items that are used the more clones that appear.

The Wii U gamepad can utilise the touch screen to uncover hidden blocks and items.

Game Mechanics

The main game is 3d based but it still includes some of the traditional 2d platform mechanics from previous Mario games. It Starts with Mario Luigi peach and toad finding a tilted glass pipe, After Mario and Luigi fix it a sprixie Princess appears telling the Bowser has kidnapped the other Sprixie Princess and is holding them in jars. Bowser appears and captures the Sprixie Princess in a jar then escapes through a pipe. The Super 4 follow into the pipe and find themselves in a mystical world called Sprixie Kingdom. The Super 4 (Mario,Luigi, Princess, Peach) explorer the Sprixie Kingdom looking to find and release all the Sprixies.
